Syrians Criticize Russia and the Search
for Bakkour Continues
The chairman of the Arab League
announced that he will be visiting
Damascus this week to put forth an
initiative to stop the violence. At the
same time, Russia announced its
rejection of the EU sanctions against
the Assad regime and it added that it
will not allow the Libyan scenario to be
repeated in Syria. The Syrian opposition
is getting frustrated with Russia lately
and many are starting to speak out
against it.
Military operations continued in Syria
today, as the Assad regime killed at
least fourteen civilians. In Hama, three
were killed in Khan Shaikhoun which is
still under siege including its
hospitals. Furthermore, four were killed
in Tahtaya, and another four in Karnaz,
while one man was killed in Saraqeb in
Idlib. These operations are parts of the
regime’s efforts to stop the defected
Attorney General Adnan Bakkour from
leaving the country through the Lebanese
or Turkish borders.
Homs is still living through heavy
military operations as the areas of Bab
Amr, Khaldiya, Qosur, Joora al-Shayah,
Ghouta, Deir Baalba, Bab Hood, Bab Sbaa
and Inshaat are under attack. More than
fifteen were injured today in Homs. News
also surfaced of more soldiers defecting
in Bab Amr which lead to clashes with
pro-regime bands. It is noted that the
Shabbiha have been erecting checkpoints
all over the city in collaboration with
the armed Alawite minority in Homs that
supports Assad.
Hama is still being combed by the regime
in search of Bakkour. As a result,
Kernaz, Tahtaya and Jbala were invaded.
This led to the death of at least twelve
civilians by security forces’ fire.
Bakkour released an announcement today
about how he was protected by the rebels
when the security forces closed in on
them yesterday.
On another note, Wikileaks today
published a secret document from the US
embassy in Damascus saying that after
the US invaded Iraq the Syrian
government gave prisoners an opportunity
to receive military training and fight
against the Coalition Forces in Iraq.
Upon return many were freed, others were
sent to Lebanon, while others were
returned to the prison in Seidnaya. This
is said to have led to the 2008 riots in
which Maher Assad and his Fourth
Division committed a massacre against
the prisoners.
Sources close to the regime have
confirmed that former Defense Minister
Ali Habib was shot dead after his
resignation, adding that the Assad
regime shot two videos of him before
killing him to broadcast later.

ينتقدون روسيا وما زال البحث عن بكّور
مستمراً
أعلن الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية
نبيل العربي أنه سيزور دمشقهذا الأسبوع
لطرح مبادرةٍ لوقف العنف. وفي نفس الوقت
أعلنت روسيا رفضها للعقوباتالأوروبيَّة
وصرّحت أنها لن تسمح بتكرار سيناريو ليبيا
في سورية. وقد بدات المعارضة السوريّة
تضيق ذرعاً بدعم روسيا لنظام الأسد، حيث
أعلن بعضوجوه المعارضة السوريّون انّ
"الدم السوري أصبح يباع في البازار
السياسي الروسي"، مضيفاً إن الدم السوري
أصبح ضحية صفقات الأسلحة بين روسيا
وسورية. ويُذكر أن الكثير من اللافتات
التي حُملت خلال الجمعة الماضية أدانت
موقف روسيا من الثورة السوريّة
وقد استمرّت العمليّات العسكريّة في سورية
اليوم، حيث قامت قوّات الأسد بقتل 14
مدنياً على الأقل في عمليّاتها العسكريَّة
عبر سورية. ووقع في محافظة حماة ثلاثة
قتلى في خان شيخون التي ما زالت محاصرة مع
مستشفياتها. كما وقُتِلَ أربعة في تحتايا
وأربعة في كرناز، بينما وقع قتيل في سراقب
في إدلب. وتأتي هذه العمليّات ضمن مساعي
النظام للقبض على المحامي العام المنشق
الذي يُعتقد أنه يغادر البلاد حاليّاً عبر
تركيا أو حماة، ولذا يقوم النظام باجتياح
المناطق الحدوديّة
وما زالت حمص تتعرّضُ للاجتياحات
اليوميّة، حيث تعرَّضت مناطق باب عمرو
والخالديّة والقصور وجورة الشياح والغوطة
ودير بعلبة وباب هود وباب سباع والإنشاءات
لاجتياحات أدَّت إلى إصابة أكثر من 15
شخصاً. وقد وردت أنباء عن انشقاق عدد من
عناصر الجيش في باب عمرو واشتباكها
بالشبيحة. ويُذكر أن الشبيحة قامت
باستخدام بعض أهالي العلويّين الموالين
لإدارة حواجز تفتيش عبر حمص، بعد تسليحهم
وتحريضهم بالطبع
وما زالت حماة أيضاً تتعرّض لحملات تفتيش
جائرة للبحث عن المحامي العام، حيث
تعرَّضت كرناز وتحتايا وجبالا لاجتياحات
سقط فيها 12 قتيلاً على الأقل. وأصدر
النائب العامعدنان بكور بياناً حول ما حصل
معه يوم السبت وكيف أن الثوار قاموا
بحمايته من قوّات الأمن. وقد خرجت اليوم
تقارير تُفيد بإعدام العشرات من المعتقلين
السياسيّين في السجن المركزي والجنود
المنشقّين. وقد طالبت مظاهرات حماة اليوم
بالتدخّل الدولي لحماية المتظاهرين
وقد نشر موقع ويكيليكس مُذكّرة سرّيّة
صادرة عن السفارة الأميركية في دمشق تذكر
فيها أنه بعد اجتياح الولايات المتّحدة
للعراق قَدَّمت الحكومة السورية فرصةً إلى
السجناء في صيدنايا للحصول على حريتهم بعد
تدريبات عسكرية في سورية للسفر إلى العراق
لمحاربة قوّات التحالف. وبعد عودة هذه
القوَّات بقي الكثير منهم أحراراً وعلى
علاقة بالنظام، وتم إرسال آخرين إلى
لبنان، بينما تم زجّ البعض في سجن صيدنايا
مما أدَّى إلى أعمال الشغب في عام 2008
والمجزرة بقيادة ماهر الأسد والفرقة
الرابعة
وقد أكّدت مصادر سوريّة قريبة من السلطة
أن العماد علي حبيب قُتِل بعد استقالته.
وأنّ السلطات السوريّة قامت بتسجيل شريطين
لعلي حبيب بعد الإقالة. وتتحدّى هذه
المصادر النظام ببث مقابلة مباشرة مع
العماد
