Lebanese American Society at University of Florida Celebrates Independence Day

       On Nov 20th, 2005, members from the Lebanese American  Society at the University of Florida at Gainesville-Florida, had  a picnic brunch to celebrate Lebanese Independence Day which usually marked on the 22nd of November.
   The officers of the Society and the members expressed the  special meanings behind the double celebration of this national  holiday this very year, as it is celebrated after the liberation of Lebanon from Syrian occupation and hegemony. 
 
     The brunch took place at Lake Wauburg in Gainesville where the crowd of  Lebanese students and their friends enjoyed Lebanese food and ! ; music. The Lebanese Society provided Lebanese backary including  mnakeesh and cheese pies, while some members played live music and drums.  
 
For their generation, it was the first time they mark their independence from French mandate ( 62 years ago) with  their country free again.
