New York, NY – For Immediate release.

 

 

On March 7th 2005, The World Lebanese Cultural Union (“WLCU”) is sponsoring a massive demonstration and rally against the continuing Syrian Occupation of Lebanon. The Demonstration will start at 12 noon at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, located adjacent to the United Nations on 1st Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets. Lebanese-Americans, concerned Americans, and human rights activists anticipate a massive turnout from throughout the East Coast and nationwide.

 

The participants will then proceed to the Syrian Mission to the UN located at 820 2nd Avenue.

 

Attendance by all freedom loving persons is encouraged. We will proudly display the unity of the Lebanese throughout the world. God willing, our unity will liberate our beloved Lebanon. Participants are encouraged to wear red and white scarves and carry with them the American and Lebanese flags.

 

All individuals and organizations supportive of UNSCR 1559 are welcome to join.

The World Lebanese Cultural Union, an International Non Governmental Organization (“INGO”), was first organized in 1959 and is the sole legitimate representative of the fifteen million Lebanese émigrés and their descendants throughout the world.  The WLCU was instituted to preserve and promote the culture of Lebanese people throughout the world.
