World Council of the Cedars Revolution
and International Lebanese Committee for UNSCR1559 did it again.
Congratulations Once Again...........
A few days after the start of Israel / Hezbollah conflict, in
July (last month), the World Council of the Cedars Revolution (WCCR)
and International Lebanese Committee for UNSCR 1559
(ILC-UNSCR1559), commissioned a team of experts, headed by our
Academic Advisor and Political Analyst Professor Walid Phares,
to draft a resolution to help resolve the Israel / Lebanon /
Hezbollah conflict; and on our behalf, submit the Draft
Resolution to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
On the 31st of July, we distributed to the worldwide membership
and support base, a memorandum of the Draft Resolution which had
been submitted to the UNSC, that day. Undoutedly, you have saved
your copy.
On Sunday the 6th of August, the UNSC had drafted and
distributed its own UNSC Resolution which is known by France &
USA ( Please see attachment).
On comparison, we find that the Proposed UNSC resolution by
France & USA has embodied the essence of 14 provisions from the
draft resolution which was prepared by the team on behalf of the
WCCR and ILC- UNSCR1559. That in turn represents Eighty Percent
of the Draft Resolution by the UNSC.
As such, at a time of destruction, demolition and defiance, it's
gratifying to know that the Lebanese Diaspora has the capacity
to mobilize the academic advice of Professor Walid Phares and
the energies and tenacity of Tom Harb with enormous support from
John Hajjar, Sami Khoury, Joanne Fakher, Charbel Barakat, Dr
Rachid Rahme, Toni Nissi, Dr Annis Karam, Fadi Bark, Eblan
Farris , the Latin America team with George Chaya and Claudia
Chater the European team with Joseph Fadel and Roni Doumit and
particularly the team in Lebanon and many more names we will
announce, to provide solutions which will restore Lebanon's
dignity and territorial integrity.
Whilst drafting a resolution does not solve the problems, it
certainly helps to ensure that we are all working in one
direction with a common objective of serving Lebanon's best
interests. It clearly identifies that our team is in tune with
the thought process of the International Community. It places
our team in the best possible position to have our submissions
received with respect, heard and acted upon.
God bless you all and keep up the good work, Lebanon needs all
of us more now than ever before.
