Today’s Summary of Events
At least 47 people were killed and more than 100
were wounded on the Friday of “We will continue
until the regime is toppled”. This Friday
witnessed massive demonstrations in all Syrian
provinces and major cities.
Demonstrators in Deraa continued their protests
strongly all over the governorate’s cities and
towns. In response, security forces stormed
Helfaya to suppress demonstrations to find
defected soldiers. Security forces also entered
the town of Bosr Al-Harir udner the cover of
heavy gunfire searching for defected army
soldiers who blew up an armored vehicle that
shelled down the minaret of Mosab Bin Omair
mosque in the city. Assad forces launched
arrests and house-to-house raids campaign in
Deraa Al-Balad, while security forces were
heavily firing at protesters in Jasem to
disperse them.
In Idlib, the Syrian Air Force has been flying
daily at low altitudes and penetrating the sound
barrier to scare protesters. In Binsh, security
forces opened fire heavily in the city as well
as the southern parts of Jabal Al-Zawiya as part
of its operation to stop defecting soldiers from
fleeing to Turkey. Protesters took to the
streets in Saraqeb, Kafr Amim, Jobas, Rayan, and
Sheikh Idris whereby they demanded a no fly-zone.
In the capital Damascus, a vehicle belonging to
the security forces ran over demonstrators in
al-Qadam. Security forces opened fire rounds and
tear gas at protesters in Nahr Aisha. A massive
demonstration took place in Barzeh Al-Balad
despite security presence. At the same time,
protests marched in Al-Salhiya from the Friday
market to the top of Qasyoun Mountain.
In Damascus suburbs, several protesters were
killed in Zabadani, Harasta, and Madaya during a
raid that began after massive demonstrations
erupted. A raid also started in the cities of
Rankus and Assal al-Ward for the first time, as
these mountainous cities are hard to access.
Massive protests also occurred in Hama, and its
suburbs of Taybat Al-Imam and Khattab, Lattakia,
Banyas, Deir Azzour, Boukamal, al-Quriya, and
Der Azzour suburbs, where defected soldiers
chased security forces out of Jubaila.
Additionally, more demonstrations took place in
Suwaida, Tartous, Idlib, Hasaka and Aleppo.
Military operations began early in Homs
beginning with gun fire and shelling in Deir
Baalba, al-Bayadat, al-Hamraa, al-Inshaat, Bab
Sbaa and Bab Draib. This did not prevent
protesters from taking to the streets in Deir
Baalba, al-Bayada, al-Khaldiya, al-Qosur, Joret
al-Shiyah, al-Qarabis, al-Ghouta, al-Hamraa,
al-Inshaat, Bab Amr, Jouret al-Arayes, Jobar,
al-Shammas, Karm al-Shami, al-Maidan, Bab Draib,
Bab Sbaa, Jabb al-Jandali, al-Nazehin, Karm
al-Zaytoun, al-Waar, al-Khadr neighborhood,
Ashira neighborhood, and the cities and villages
of al-Rastan, Talbisa, al-Houleh, al-Qasir,
Tadmor, al-Qaryatain, Mahin, Teir Maala, and
al-Ghanto. Security forces responded by further
shelling and heavy machinegun fire at protesters
in al-Nazehin, Bab Sbaa, al-Bayada, al-Khaldiya,
Karm al-Zaytoun, al-Khadr neighborhoods, and the
cities of Talbisa and al-Houleh, resulting in a
large number of deaths and casualties. In the
meantime, Addounia television station was
conducting interviews in al-Hadara Street with
some security informants from Karm al-Shami in
front of the Sports building.
On the political level, the US, the UK and
France welcomed the formation of the Syrian
National Council (SNC) to lead internal and
external opposition movement. Syrians are
optimistic about this council and expect that
this unification of the opposition will be the
last nail in the regime and Assad’s coffin.
Assad is yet preparing for a new massacre as a
final and hopeless attempt to regain his rule.
However, this will require him to utilize and
deploy regular Army units Generals, contrary to
his deployed mercenaries and sect fanatics, to
fill the need for large numbers of soldiers over
a large geographical span. This maneuvering of
the army will itself guarantee huge divisions
and defection and will topple the regime.

النظام"، والولايات المتّحدة وبريطانيا وفرنسا
يرحّبون بتشكيل المجلس الوطني

47 قتيلاً على الأقل وأكثر من مائة جريح في جمعة
"ماضون حتى إسقاط النظام". وقد شهدت هذه الجمعة
مظاهرات عارمة في كل المحافظات السوريّة
ما
زال المتظاهرون في درعا يخرجون في كل أنحائها
بقوّة، فقامت قوَّات الأمن باقتحام حلفايا بحثاً
عن جنود منشقّين ولقَمعِ المظاهرات. ودخلت قوّات
الأمن أيضاً بصر الحرير وسط إطلاق نار كثيف للبحث
عن الأفراد المنشقين عن الجيش السوري في خربة
الحريري والذين قاموا بتفجير المدرعة التي أسقطت
مئذنة مسجد مصعب بن عمير في بصر الحرير. وتم شنُّ
حملة اعتقالات ومداهمات للبيوت في درعا البلد في
نفس الوقت الذي أطلقت قوّات الأمن في جاسم النار
بكثافة على المتظاهرين لتفريقهم
وفي
إدلب حيث أصبح طيران الجيش يخترق حاجز الصوت كل
يوم لترهيب المتظاهرين، فتحت قوّات الأمن النار
بكثافة على بنش وجنوب جبل الزاوية في إطار عمليّته
الأمنيّة لإيقاف نزوح الجنود المنشقّين إلى تركيا.
وانطلقت مظاهرات في سراقب وكفرعميم وجوباس وريان
والشيخ إدريس حيث طالب المتظاهرون بحظرٍ جوي
أمّا
في العاصمة دمشق، فقد قامت سيّارة للأمن بدهس عدد
كبير من المتظاهرين في منطقة القدم. وقامت قوّات
الأمن بإطلاق النار والغازات المسيلة للدموع على
المتظاهرين في نهر عيشة. وخرجت مظاهرة حاشدة في
برزة البلد رغم الوجود الأمني، بينما خرج متظاهرون
في الصالحيّة من سوق الجمعة إلى أعلى جبل قاسيون
وفي
ريف دمشق، قُتِل العديد من المتظاهرين في الزبداني
وحرستا ومضايا أثناء حملة مداهمات بدأت بعد خروج
المظاهرات بكثافة. وقد بدأت حملة مداهمات أيضاً
لأوّل مرّة في رنكوس وعسّال الورد
وخرجت
أيضاً مظاهرات حاشدة في حماة وطيبة الإمام وخطاّب
-في ريف حماة-، واللاذقيّة، وبانياس، وديرالزور
والبوكمال والقوريّة وريف دير الزور، حيث لاحق
الجيشُ المنشقُّ العصابات الأمنيّة خارج الجبيلة.
هذا بالإضافة إلى المزيد من التظاهرات في السويداء
وطرطوس وإدلب والحسكة وحلب
وبدأت
في حمص العمليّات العسكريّة باكراً من إطلاق نار
وتفجيرات في دير بعلبة والبيّاضات والحمراء
والإنشاءات وباب السباع وباب دريب، إلا أن ذلك لم
يمنع خروج المظاهرات من دير بعلبة والبيّاضة
والخالديّة والقصور وجورة الشيّاح والقرابيص
والغوطة والحمراء والإنشاءات وباب عمرو وجورة
العرايس وجوبر والشمّاس وكرم الشامي والميدان وباب
الدريب وباب السباع وجب الجندلي والنازحين وكرم
الزيتون والوعر وحي الخضر وحي عشيرة، ومدن وقرى
الرستن وتلبيسة والحولة والقصير وتدمر والقريتين
ومهين وتير معلة والغنطو. وردّت قوّات الأمن
بالمزيد من القصف وإطلاقٍ للنار الكثيف على
المتظاهرين في النازحين وباب السباع والبيّاضة
والخالديّة وكرم الزيتون وحي الخضر ومدن تلبيسة
والحولة مما أدى إلى سقوط عدد كبير من الجرحى
والضحايا. وفي غضون ذلك كان تلفزيون الدنيا يُجري
مقابلات في شارع الحضارة مع بعض المُخبرين من حي
كرم الشامي مقابل الصالة الرياضة
وعلى
الصعيد السياسي، رحّبت الولايات المتّحدة
وبريطانيا وفرنسا بتشكيل المجلس الوطني السوري
لتنسيق تحرّكات المعارضة في الداخل والخارج.
السوريّون متفائلون بهذا المجلس الوطني، ويتوقّعون
أن يُمثّل اتّحاد المعارضة –الذي جاء على الرغم من
المعارضة الإقليميّة- آخر مسمار في نعش النظام
ونعش الأسد الذي يقوم بالتحضير لمجزرة جديدة في
محاولة أخيرة ويائسة له للإبقاء على حكمه، ولكنَّ
ذلك سوف يستدعي استخدام عناصر ووحدات وجنرالات
الجيش النظامي بسبب الحاجة لتوزيع أعداد كبيرة من
الجنود على كمّ جغرافيّ هائل، وهذه المناورة
بذاتها سوف تضمن الانشقاقات الهائلة التي سوف تطيح
بالنظام
