Seyfo
Between Turabdin and Turlebnon
Mountains
The Levant Christians went through many massacres since year 632 and
the last one hundred years are no exception. The enemy is the same
and the victim is the same.
The enemy is radical islamism and
the victim is the Aramean people belonging to many oriental churches.
The islamic state of the ottomans
spread hunger and death among the Maronite's in the Lebanese
mountain in the end of the 18th century when over 200 000 people
were killed in different ways. The Syriacs of Turabdin in Anatolia
got their share of massacres when over 500 000 innocent people got
killed by the Turkish Soldiers and Kurdish ¨neighbors¨. in the beginning of
the 19th century massacres were held on Syria's Christians like the
Greek orthodox and on the Assyrians, Chaldean and Syriac's of Iraq.
In the modern days we continued to
experience blood by the sword, the Seyfo witch is the name that the
Christian Arameans/Syriac's call the genocides committed on them in
places like Turabdin.
Lebanon saw many massacres between
1975-1990 like the one in Damour in 1976 and the Mountain war in
1983 and others. Iraqi Arameans from all churches got their share of
persecution, violence and killings from the beginning of the 20s
century until today. Syria's Greek orthodox and Syriac's are no exception and
as soon as the regime got shaken up all protective preparations were
gone and many Christian Aramean villages and areas were cleared of
its indigenous people.
The places where the Christians got
armed and fought for their lives are the places that Christian Life
is proudly surviving and flourishing. All Christians in the Middle
East that didn't get arms and fought were killed or driven away from
their lands whenever a bad Islamic leader or a bad party or tribe
got the idea of wanting more Power or just didn't like the religious
and ethnic pluralist reality.
We as Aramean Christians in the
Levant should never except to be slaughtered without a fight.
We should help each other across the
different Church loyalties and the modern state borders.
# Arameans is the name of the
indigenous people of the Levant (Mashreq) consisting of some 8
Church affiliations.
