5 years after 1559 and still it is the solution for peace in Lebanon

 The UN resolution 1559 came because three main things:

1. The work of the Lebanese lobby
2.  The will of the international community
3. The struggle of the Lebanese people.

The Lebanese lobby around the world worked for many years to get the United Nations to recognise the Arab Syrian occupation of Lebanon and the problems the state within the state that the Palestinians and hezballa had created. In the end of 2004 the cities of decision in the world had made their mind to do something about the situation and the decision came in the shape of the UN resolution 1559. The international community had finally got their eyes on Lebanon and was willing to do what it can to help the Lebanese people to regain the sovereignty over all territories. The Lebanese people inside Lebanon showed in their part that what the Lebanese lobby and the international community were doing was exactly what is right for Lebanon. The people showed this on the 14^th of march when more than one million Lebanese stood in the martyr square in Beirut and manifested their will for freedom and support for one armed group in the country and that is the Lebanese army. The resolution and the ones behind it were able to achieve a part of the goals that was the withdrawal of the Arab Syrian army. 5 years after the resolution there are still much issues remaining. The International community must continue standing with Lebanese people to get a country free from militias and armed groups always threatening the civil peace.
