Federalism in Syria is the solution
20130826
Just like
the natural solution to solve conflicts in Lebanon and Iraq seems to
be the federal system, the same formula must and can be implemented
in Syria. (In Iraq and Lebanon politicians are still refusing to
announce federalism officially but on the ground this is the reality).
Today the main groups on the ground in Syria are:
The Sunni Arabs, the Sunni Kurds, the Alawites and the Aramean
Christians with different churches and directions. Syria should be
ruled through 3 main autonomic areas.
One is in the North East of the country called ¨The Jazira¨ that
could be a state of Kurdish majority and Christian Aramean minority
(mainly belonging to the Syriac and Assyrian Churches).
In the North West there is the ¨The Nasara valley¨ witch can become
a state ruled equally between the Alawites and the Aramean
Christians belonging mainly to the Greek Orthodox Church but also
with many other Oriental Churches.
The rest of Syria can then be ruled from Damascus by the Arab Sunnis
with a Christian minority around the capital.
This way the Syrian house can be protected from new wars and more
hatred and fear between the different religious and ethnic groups.
Let people rule the area they are inhabiting with one and united
Syrian foreign policy and military. Anything else will be decided on
the local level were every group can choose the style of living that
they might like.
