The Israeli and Syrian relations with
Lebanon
20130302
Lebanon is situated between Syria and Israel. With week governments
in Beirut, neighboring countries have been able interfere in the
country. Statewise Lebanon have never fought against Israel but for
short periods it had to fight the Syrian army.
Short notices about this:
Israel have take prisoners in the past but today there are none,
prisoners that were in Israel enjoyed visits from families and
international organisations plus education and other rights. Syria
has more than 500 Lebanese prisoners and no one know what torture
they are going through.
From time to time the Lebanese intelligence catches a collaborator
here and there working for Israel, they usually get years in prison.
Collaborators with the regime in Syria are thousands starting with
more than half the parliament and government and other high
positioned personalities, those people get rewards instead of
penalties.
There is an area between Lebanon and Israel of around 5 kilometres
that Lebanon claim Israel is occupying while Syria has taken 430
kilometres from Lebanon without any Lebanese official complaining.
Politicians and media always points out that Israel is behind any
fighting between the Lebanese while we see every day the fights in
Lebanon being between those supporting the regime in Syria and those
against and the fights are sponsored of both the regime in Syria and
those against.
Strange how arabists, islamists and other ideologists in Lebanon and
the Middle East always tends to see the issues with two meassures
when it comes to their interests.
