Arming our Aramean people in Iraq is the last way out.

The Political Bureau of the Aramean Democratic Organization held its regular meeting and discussed the dire situation of the Aramean people in Iraq in the light of the brutal massacres carried out by Islamist terrorist gangs recently, and issued the following statements:

1.     The Aramean Democratic Organization holds the Iraqi government and coalition forces responsible for security of the Aramean people in its various Christian and Mandean communities and other religious and ethnic minorities.

2.     The Organization stresses the need to achieve what it demanded since the beginning of the military operations by the coalition forces in Iraq, namely the creation of an autonomous region for the protection of our Aramean people, by an international force from the free world and the United States and Great Britain in the front rank.

3.     Until the implementation of this requirement, the Organization calls for arming our Aramean people and ethnic and religious minorities whose existence is threatened, and creation of their own militias by its own youth to be able to defend themselves, like the Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish groups .
